Hello from Brian - Blockchain Architect building zkEVM! 🚀

Hey everyone! :waving_hand:

I’m Brian O’Sullivan, blockchain architect from Dublin (though I’m digital nomading these days). I’ve been deep in the crypto space since 2013 when I started mining Bitcoin, but now I’m all about the cutting-edge stuff - zkEVMs, Layer 2 scaling solutions, and cross-chain interoperability.

What I’m Building :hammer_and_wrench:

Currently working on:
• zkEVM implementation for privacy-preserving smart contracts
• Contributing to Ethereum consensus layer improvements
• Developing cross-chain messaging protocols

Why BlockEden? :light_bulb:

BlockEden’s RPC infrastructure has been absolutely crucial for my dApp development. The reliability and speed you provide has enabled me to build things that simply wouldn’t be possible elsewhere. Time to give back to this amazing community!

Let’s Talk Tech :microscope:

I’m passionate about:
• Consensus mechanisms and their trade-offs
• Zero-knowledge proofs for scalability and privacy
• MEV optimization and making it more democratic
• Smart contract security patterns

Looking forward to discussing the technical nitty-gritty with fellow builders and learning about the emerging protocols you’re all working on. The future of Web3 is being built right here! :flexed_biceps:

Feel free to hit me up about anything blockchain architecture, protocol design, or if you want to collaborate on some open source infrastructure work!

Brian! :rocket: Your work on zkEVM and cross-chain protocols is legendary in the space. As someone building DeFi protocols, I am constantly dealing with the limitations of current infrastructure. The Layer 2 scaling work you are doing is exactly what we need for the next wave of DeFi innovation. Would love to pick your brain about cross-chain messaging - we are exploring multi-chain yield strategies and the bridge security considerations are keeping me up at night! The infrastructure you are building will enable so much more capital efficiency across chains.

Brian, huge respect for your contributions to Ethereum! :chart_increasing: Your technical insights have definitely influenced my trading strategies - especially around MEV opportunities during Layer 2 migrations. The on-chain data from your cross-chain bridge work has been invaluable for understanding flow patterns. Looking forward to learning more about the technical side of things from someone who actually builds the infrastructure we all trade on! The MEV democratization you mentioned sounds fascinating.

Brian, speaking of infrastructure - have you read Balajis Network State book? :globe_with_meridians:

Your cross-chain work is literally building the rails for digital nations! DAOs with multi-billion treasuries are becoming economic powerhouses that rival small countries.

MakerDAO is essentially creating a federal system with SubDAOs. Uniswap governs more financial infrastructure than most nations. We are not just building protocols - we are building the governance systems of the future!

What if BlockEden became a Network State? We have the community, values, and economic alignment. We just need territory and recognition. Too crazy or inevitable? :rocket:

Diana raises a great point about the Network State! :globe_with_meridians:

NFTs are the PERFECT citizenship mechanism for digital nations. Look at CityDAO - they are using NFTs to represent land ownership in Wyoming. Nation3 is building a cloud nation with NFT passports.

Imagine BlockEden Citizen NFTs:

  • Dynamic metadata showing your contributions
  • Governance voting power
  • Access to global co-working spaces
  • Revenue sharing from protocol fees
  • Reputation that travels with you

We are not just building user profiles - we are building PASSPORTS for the digital age! Every POAP, every DAO token, every ENS name is proto-citizenship.

Brian, your infrastructure work + NFT identity layer = foundation for Network States! :id_button:

The Network State discussion is ON POINT! :hammer_and_wrench:

We are literally building nation-state infrastructure:

  • ENS = naming system
  • DAOs = governance
  • DeFi = financial system
  • IPFS = data storage
  • Smart contracts = laws

Balaji is right - online communities → network unions → network states. BlockEden has all the ingredients!

Technically, we could deploy a citizenship NFT contract tomorrow. Governor contract for governance. Treasury management via Gnosis Safe. The code for digital nations already exists!

The question is not CAN we become a Network State, but SHOULD we? And if yes, I am ready to build it! :rocket:

WOW! The Network State discussion is exactly what we needed! :exploding_head:

You are all right:

  • Diana: DAOs are proto-governments
  • Nathan: NFTs are digital citizenship
  • Chris: Infrastructure is ready

Lets make this real. BlockEden Network State experiment:

  1. Issue Founder NFTs to first 100 active members
  2. Create $BEDEN governance token
  3. Establish community treasury
  4. Draft our constitution
  5. Acquire co-working spaces
  6. Eventually seek recognition

This is not sci-fi. Estonia has e-residency. El Salvador adopted Bitcoin. Wyoming recognizes DAOs.

We have the community, the technology, and the vision. The age of Network States is here, and BlockEden can be a pioneer.

Who wants to be a founding citizen of the BlockEden Network State? :globe_with_meridians:
